(Kaieteur News) – In an evening defined by elegance, national pride, and institutional transformation, Kelcia Nelson was officially crowned Miss World Guyana 2026 during a landmark coronation ceremony held on Saturday, 24th May,2026, at the Pegasus Exhibition Hall in Georgetown.
The coronation ceremony, produced by Majesty Talent Management Inc. (MTMI), served as a selected appointment in celebration of the 75th anniversary year of the Miss World Organisation. The event also formally introduced a new era for the Miss World Guyana franchise through the unveiling of its expanded regional structure.
Nelson received the crown from outgoing titleholder Zalika Samuels, Miss World Guyana 2024, before an audience that included members of the diplomatic community, government officials, corporate stakeholders, members of the media, pageant supporters, and specially invited guests.
The evening was co-hosted by media personality Jamicia McCalman and outgoing queen Zalika Samuels, whose reign was recognised for her representation of Guyana on the international stage and her continued advocacy through the Beauty With A Purpose platform.
The ceremony also saw the official presentation of Jenica Wallcott as Heiress and first runner-up. In her capacity as Heiress, Wallcott will undertake national and local representational duties throughout the Miss World Guyana 2026 reign cycle, while newly crowned Miss World Guyana 2026, Kelcia Nelson, prepares to represent Guyana internationally at the 75th anniversary edition of the Miss World Festival in Vietnam.
The Miss World Festival is scheduled to run from August 9 to September 5, 2026. It will begin in Hanoi and conclude with the grand finale in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together delegates from around the world in celebration of the organisation’s milestone anniversary year.
Saturday evening’s coronation also marked a significant institutional milestone for Majesty Talent Management Inc., which used the occasion to formally unveil its evolving national structure and renewed direction for the Miss World Guyana franchise.
In remarks delivered during the ceremony, representatives of MTMI described the repositioning as part of a broader vision to strengthen talent development, national representation, cultural storytelling, and social impact initiatives under the Beauty With A Purpose mandate
The organisation also outlined plans for expanded editorial, philanthropic, and youth-focused initiatives through the future establishment of the Majesty Purpose Foundation.
