(Kaieteur News) – Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police and former member of the Police Service Commission, Clinton Conway has died.
Retired Assistant Commissioner of Police Paul Slowe announced Conway’s passing in a Facebook post Sunday morning.
“It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the passing of my dear friend and co-host of Speaking Out, Assistant Commissioner (Retired), Clinton Conway. My deepest condolences to his wife and other family members. May he rest in peace and rise in glory,” Slowe said.
The People’s National Congress Reform in a statement extended condolences to Conway’s family, friends, and former colleagues, noting that his passing represents the loss of a dedicated public servant whose contributions extended beyond the uniform and into the broader national conversation on governance, rights, and public accountability.
“Mr. Conway dedicated many years of distinguished service to the people of Guyana through the Guyana Police Force, where he served with professionalism, commitment, and a deep sense of duty to country. Throughout his career in law enforcement, he earned the respect of colleagues and citizens alike for his knowledge, discipline, and steadfast approach to policing and public service,” PNCR noted.
The party further highlighted that even after his retirement from active-duty, Conway continued to make meaningful contributions as a Human Rights Advocate and a member of the Police Service Commission. “He remained actively engaged in issues concerning justice, accountability, policing, and national development. Many Guyanese relied on his insight, experience, and thoughtful commentary on matters affecting public security and the administration of justice,” PNCR said.
