ExxonMobil Guyana Limited has placed additional line pipe orders with French tubular giant Vallourec for its offshore operations in the Stabroek Block.
The latest contracts cover more than 145 kilometres of coated line pipe for the Hammerhead and Longtail developments, amounting to roughly 40,000 metric tons. Of this total, about 90 kilometres will feature advanced insulation using ExxonMobil’s Proxxima resin system with GDLX subsea technology.
The scope also includes the application of anti-corrosion coatings and pipes cladded with corrosion resistant alloy (CRA) weld overlay.
“These new contracts further reinforce Vallourec’s strategic positioning as a key supplier to ExxonMobil Guyana Limited,” said Philippe Guillemot, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Vallourec. “Leveraging our industrial footprint in Brazil, these projects highlight not only the operational excellence of our teams but also the strength of our fully integrated industrial value chain—from production to premium finishing and coating capabilities.”
The French firm also noted that it had become the first licensee of Proxxima resin systems with GDLX subsea insulation technology, licensed by ExxonMobil to commercially deploy the technology. To support this development, Vallourec will invest in an upgrade of its coating solutions plant in Serra, Espírito Santo, Brazil. (Offshore Energy)
