Dear Editor,
Sunday, the second in the month of May, is Mother’s Day, a universal day for honouring maternal figures with heartfelt appreciation. It is a deeply emotional day observed with gusto in which children treat their mother extra special, showering them with flowers, gifts, food.
On behalf of children and all male figures, I convey thanks and gratitude for all that mothers, sisters, women have done for their siblings and younger folks. They did almost everything possible, countless tasks, for us from birth until adulthood and even after marriage, taking care of the grandchildren and offering guidance on how we live a better life. Many sisters and neighbours, female friends and cousins serve as mothers to others. Females didn’t do it because of their love for their loved ones, families, friends, and neighbours.
And we as children and as younger folks and males return our love, gratitude, and appreciation for their sacrifices and endless care. Thanks for all you have done and will continue to do. You are deserving of our love and appreciation for their sleepless nights, labour, constant worry, and unwavering understanding and support.
The day brings back memories and they are all positive about the females who played a role in making us a better person. Thank you, ladies, for your strength and resilience and for putting up with us for all those years!
Yours truly,
Vishnu Bisram
