Kaieteur Sports – National Sports Commission Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport 11th edition Janet & Cheddi Jagan Windball Cricket champion trophy Region 3 edition organised by Sport Office A. Munroe was played at the Track & Field Tarmac WCD.
In the Region 3 opening ceremony which was declared open by Parliamentary Secretary Thandi Mc Allister. In her address she reminded the participants that sport is essential to achieving structure and balance. Playing Windball Cricket and Our National game of Circle Tennis during my high school years helped my academic focus and eventual success. “I am happy to see you participate in this tournament and I encourage you to stay focus, remain disciplined and win.”
Schools from Region 3 coastland and also Wakenaan & Leguan were also present at the days programme which assisted by AL Sport & Tour Promotions Official Julius David, Francina Nichols & Clavon Monchoir.
Essequibo Island Secondary school (Wakenaam) marched to the Region 3 finals.
Leguan secondary School after been invited to bat made 24-5 Thavindra Persaud 10. Justin Dowlin picked up 3-6.
Essequibo Island Secondary replied with 25-0 off 1.5 overs with Justin Dowlin scoring 11.
Uitvlugt Secondary schools send in to bat scored 68-3, with Parmeshwar Ram left unbeaten on 51 (6s x7).
De Willem Secondary in reply were restricted to 26-5 off their 5 overs. Ram came back with the ball to grab 2-2 off his one over.
Leonora Secondary send into bat, scored 41-1, Irfan Takeram & Videsh Rambarran each scoring 18 run a piece.
Zeeburg Secondary replied with 44-0, Rahul Roopam 23 and Bhonarine Peters 17 led the scoring.
National 2nd place team & defending Region 3 champions Parika Salem Secondary batted first and rattled up 56-7, Suresh Rajaram made 25. Reginald Simion took 4-0.
Debutant Vergenoegen Secondary School were restricted to 28-3. Shazim Mohamed took 2-3.
Essequibo Island Secondary made 76-2, Justin Dowlin 41 and Bhomesh Lall 11.
Zeeburg Secondary 33-4, Bhojnarine Peters 12. Demarcus Thomas took the first a hat-trick for the 2026 tournament, 3-1 off his one over.
Debutant Tuschen Secondary after been invited to bat scored 17-4. Ronaldo Persaud took 2-0 & Montey Miguel 2-3.
Parika Salem Secondary responded with 18-1 off 2 overs.
Last year national 2nd place team and region 3 defending champions Parika Salem squeezed into this year finals after defeating rivals De Willem Secondary.
Parika Salem batted first and scored 42-2, Rehanna Robinson 24, Reshana Blake 11.
De Willem responded 38-1, Nelica France 12 & Princess Osborne 10.
Vergenoegen Secondary sent in to bat made 75-0, Christina Subrattie 33 and Rosmeldie Ram 15.
Zeeburg Secondary in replied were restricted to 71-1 when their five overs expired. Leanna Harry made 22 and Mariah Wilson 19.
De Willem hit 70-2 with Cystal Melville 23.
Tuschen Secondary in reply 67-0, Karishma Narinedatt 24 and Faith Samuels 13.
Uitvlugt Secondary scored 31-5. Shania Jones took 3 wkts for 4 runs.
Leonora Secondary replied with 32 off 2.3 overs with Alliyah Mohamed 11.
