According to the tender notice, applicants must be registered homeowners in Guyana with property ownership within a four-mile radius of the hospitals. Homeowners are required to present a valid TIN, national ID, and proof of ownership when submitting their EOI.
The ministry specified that the accommodations must be fully furnished and equipped, including:
Dining: Table, chairs, kitchen utensils, silverware, pots, and pans.
Living room: Sofas, curtains, carpeting, and rugs.
Bedrooms: Bed, mattress, and closets.
Appliances: Television and stand, refrigerator, washing machine, microwave, stove, fan, iron, and ironing board.
Fixtures: Lighting, kitchen sinks, cupboards, counters, windows, and a fully equipped bathroom with bath, sinks, and toilet.
Additionally, properties must provide essential utilities and services, including garbage collection, electricity, potable water, gas supply, and internet. Security is also a priority; accommodations must be fitted with grilled doors and windows, well-maintained, and subject to ongoing upkeep.
EOIs must be submitted on or before April 3, 2026, at the Ministry of Health’s Brickdam, Georgetown head office tender box.
The six new regional hospitals, commissioned in 2025 across Regions Two, Three, Four, Five, and Six, are part of a transformative GY$39 billion investment to expand high-quality tertiary healthcare outside of Georgetown. Each facility offers 24-hour emergency services, advanced diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, modern operating theatres, as well as intensive care and neonatal units.
“By decentralising specialised healthcare services, the regional hospitals greatly reduce the need for patients to travel to Georgetown, ensuring timely, efficient, and equitable access to care,” the ministry stated
