(Kaieteur News) – Dem boys seh road ain’t race track. But some drivers behaving like dem in Grand Prix, pressing accelerator like if life is cheap.
Everybody know speeding is one of de biggest causes of accident. A driver supposed to be careful and drive with sense. But dem boys seh it become even more important when you got your own family sitting in de vehicle.
When you carrying strangers you got a responsibility. But when you carrying your mother, your child, your wife, your brother or sister—then that responsibility even heavier. Dem people trust you with dem life. When you behind de steering wheel, you supposed to protect dem, not put dem in danger.
Yet every day dem boys see people flying down de road like if police chasing dem. Dem cutting corners, overtaking reckless, and pressing gas like if de faster dem reach is the better it is. But dem boys seh speed ain’t saving time. It just increasing risk.
Yesterday morning tragedy strike again. In de wee hours, when road quiet and there was absolutely no need to rush, one car end up turning turtle. Just like that. Two people lose dem life. A family now mourning. And dem boys sure that if you rewind de clock, somebody would give anything to take back that moment of speed.
Dem boys seh one second of impatience could cost a lifetime of grief. When vehicle moving fast, all it take is a little loss of control, a patch of sand, a sudden swerve—and everything done. Metal twist, glass shatter, sirens start wail, and people left crying by de roadside.
What make it worse is when the victims are the very people who trust the driver most—the loved ones sitting quietly in the car. Dem boys seh if you love your family, drive like you love dem.
Leave home earlier. Ease off the gas. Let the impatient ones pass. Nothing wrong with reaching late. But it is a tragedy when people never reach at all.
Dem boys seh every driver got a simple choice: slow down and reach safe, or speed up and gamble with life.
And when your family in the car, that gamble should never even cross your mind.
Talk half. Leff half.
