(Kaieteur News) – A Sunday evening an altercation at a shop in Lust-En-Rust, La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, ended in tragedy with the fatal stabbing of 28-year-old construction worker Joel Anthony Tamesar.
According to the police, on Sunday evening Tamesar of La Parfaite Harmonie, was at a shop when a 38-year-old male, also of the area, reportedly entered and an altercation ensued.
During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly armed himself with a knife and inflicted a stab wound to Tamesar’s left chest before fleeing. Tamesar was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital by public-spirited citizens, but he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment. His body was later taken to the Ezekiel Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police later arrested the suspect at Lust-En-Rust, where he was found hiding in a trench. He remains in police custody assisting with investigations.
