Hamilton Green Cup kick off today
Kaieteur Sports – The moment has arrived—the time is now. The much-anticipated Hamilton Green nine-a-side Inter Ward/Village Knockout Football tournament kicks off today at the Plaisance Ground on the East Coast of Demerara.
The first 16 teams will take the field this evening from 6:00 pm, battling for a share of $800,000 in prize money. The champions will pocket $500,000 along with medals and a trophy. The second and third-place finishers will receive $200,000 and $100,000 respectively, in addition to medals and trophies.
Ricks and Sari Enterprise will also donate hampers to the eventual winners of the tournament as part of the spoils.
The pulsating action begins tonight, March 1, and continues on Wednesday, March 4, 11 and 13, before culminating on March 21. All matches will be played at the Plaisance Ground.
