Kaieteur Sports – In observance of Mashramani celebrations, the Transport Sports Club would be holding a day of Sports at the club’s venue, Thomas Lands.
The Draughts competition starts at 11:00am and would be contested on the 10×10 international boards. The competition is opened to all players and the entrance fee is $1000 per player. The nation’s top players would take part, which would enhance the excitement of the day. Linden player, Floyd Cumberbatch, Transport Club members Jiaram, Steve Bacchus, Ivor English and Nadine Meighbarran would all vie for the top positions. Devanand Persaud from Tuschen is also expected to take part.
The billiards is scheduled for 12:30 pm and would be contested in the A and B categories. The A competition would see senior players like Derek Babb, Colin France, Mark Morgan, Singh and Humil Wilson. In the B division, Ramesh Das and Clifford Dodson would take the charge.
Entrance fee is $2000 per player. Only Transport Club members are edible to enter. Contact Jiaram (614-6671) for more information.
