(Kaieteur News) – A 53-year-old man was granted bail in the sum of $150,000 for a robbery under arms charge, after he appeared in court on Thursday.
The accused, Joseph George of Brush Dam, Buxton, East Coast Demerara, appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse.
According to information provided by the police, the offence was allegedly committed on a 47-year-old self-employed woman of Montrose, East Coast Demerara, on February 9, 2026, at Vryheid’s Lust Public Road.
George pleaded not guilty and was granted bail. The matter was adjourned to March 17, 2026.
