Cops seize guns, ammo, ganja during Linden raid
(Kaieteur News) – Police in Regional Division #10 uncovered suspected firearms, ammunition, and 4.536 kilograms of cannabis during a raid at a Central Amelia’s Ward residence early Sunday morning.
In a statement police said acting on information received, ranks conducted a search on a motor lorry parked in the yard at the residence, during which a haversack was discovered behind the driver’s seat containing several parcels of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
4.536 kilograms of cannabis were seized.

Further checks led to the discovery of three 9mm pistols and nine .32 rounds of ammunition concealed among the suspected cannabis. A 42-year-old businesswoman of Central Amelia’s Ward was arrested and placed into custody.
Further investigation also led to the arrest of a 36-year-old male driver of Bamia, Soesdyke-Linden Highway, at his residence. The suspected cannabis was weighed in the presence of the suspects and amounted to 4.536 kilograms. The suspected firearms, ammunition and narcotics were thereafter lodged pending investigation. Both suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
