(Kaieteur News) – Six persons, including a 17-year-old, were on Monday charged with failing to report an unnatural death when they appeared at the Linden Magistrates’ Court.
The six persons were arrested on January 20, 2026 in connection with the burnt remains of Jamal ‘Skinny’ Bourne who shot himself in the head during a live stream on social media.
Police in a statement identified those charged as “Shiloh Nurse, 26, of Church Street, Stanleytown, West Bank Demerara, Yashua Angoy, 20, of Second Street, Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, a 17-year-old male of Yarrowkabra, Linden Highway, Tyron Gill, called “Ace,” 21, of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, Latana Rambharrat, 18, of Belle West, West Bank Demerara and Sasha Lyken, 21, of Samatta Point Grove, East Bank Demerara.”
Nurse was also charged with the “Unlawful Possession of a Firearm without Licence and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition without Licence, allegedly committed in relation to a matter currently under investigation.”
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to February 18, 2026.
The defendants appeared before Magistrate Rushell Liverpool where the charges were read to them. While all of them pleaded guilty, five were fined $9,750 each and the 17-year-old was sent away.
On January 25, this publication reported that the six suspects arrested last Tuesday at Three Miles, Wisroc, Linden, where burnt materials were discovered, admitted to burning Bourne’s body.
Police confirmed that the suspects admitted to burning Bourne’s body after he shot himself in the head during a live stream on January 18. The suspects reportedly told investigators that they burnt the man’s body because they were afraid to go to the police to report what transpired.
Bourne was wanted in connection with the murder of Akeem Hamer at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara which occurred on September 12, 2024.
