(Kaieteur News) – Nine beauties are competing for the title of Miss Bartica Regatta 2026. The pageant slated for April 4, 2026 will feature a talent segment, fashion show and intelligence segment.
Logistics Coordinator of the pageant, Patrice Wilson, explained that this year, organizers of the event are seeking to add a little more excitement to the experience. According to her, this year’s competition includes a talent segment- which was not done before in addition to upgraded winning prizes.
“We will be giving away three luminous scooters along with the cash prices…This year, we also opened the pageant to include young women who are not necessarily born in Bartica but are bred here. They have their roots here. We have two Venezuelans who grew up in Bartica and a Brazilian girl who also lived here for a number of years,” she said adding that the goal is to bring a little more diversity to the stage.

She said “The Miss Bartica Regatta Pageant is one of the oldest, if not the oldest community pageants in Guyana and while we have faced some negativity, this pageant has history and value that is worth preserving. Bartica as a mining destination that hold so much potential for tourism. The pageant allows our young women to showcase their beauty, intelligence and talent. It also offers a platform for them to build self confidence while showcasing their Region.”
