Dear Editor,
Why is the Speaker allowed to take the Government beyond the point where long-time trusting supporters cannot be on the side of, or continue to make excuses for the non-selection of the Leader of the Opposition?
Are there more un-statesman-like mind-games being played? Will the selection be sprung on or before the January 26th Parliament sitting?
Whatever the plan, the President should insist that arrangements be made to select the Leader of the Opposition and prevent increasing humiliation to those whose loyalty to the PPP/C is severely tested.
The masquerade must stop before honourable voters re-think their backing. In the future.
Regards,
Faiyaz Alli
