(Kaieteur News) – An intelligence-led operation conducted by police last Friday, unearthed a quantity of narcotics at the home of a farmer at Timehri North, East Bank Demerara.
Acting on information, ranks on patrol visited the farmer’s residence where a search was conducted on the premises.
During the search of the western fence line, ranks found a black plastic bag. Upon inspection, the bag was found to contain 23 red transparent plastic bags containing leaves, seeds, and stems, along with 10 transparent zip-lock bags containing leaves, seeds, and stems, all suspected to be cannabis.
The farmer was told of the offence and escorted to the Timehri Police Station, where the cannabis was weighed in his presence and amounted to 97 grams. The narcotics were then marked, sealed and lodged.
Investigations continue.
