(Kaieteur News) – Guyanese-owned Two Brothers Rice Milling Complex Inc. has announced plans to expand its operations into Jamaica in 2026 under the name “Two Ali Brothers Corporation Limited.”

According to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Javed Ali, the proposed expansion is expected to strengthen the company’s engagement with the Jamaican community while contributing to economic development through job creation and strategic partnerships.

According to a press release, in keeping with this regional outlook, the Vergenoegen-based company has also stepped forward to support humanitarian efforts, donating more than 20,000 kilograms of rice to assist communities in Jamaica affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. The donation was distributed to several charitable organisations and individuals across multiple affected parishes. Distribution was facilitated through Taujul Imports, following an initiative spearheaded by Slingerz Entertainment, also led by Ali, and coordinated on the ground in Jamaica by Jacqueline James and Zarie Ricketts.

The press release added, the contribution comes at a critical time as many Jamaican communities continue recovery and rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of the powerful storm, which left numerous families facing food insecurity and hardship. “We at 2 Brothers Rice Milling Complex are deeply moved by the strength and resilience of the Jamaican people in the wake of Hurricane Melissa,” Ali said. “It is our honour to contribute to the relief efforts and to stand in solidarity with communities as they rebuild their lives.”

Through his association with Slingerz Entertainment, Ali also connected with Dancehall star, Vybz Kartel and his Adidja Palmer Foundation, along with Carlton Grant, popularly known as Spragga Benz. The release stated that Ali expressed appreciation to the Honourable Floyd Green, Jamaica’s Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Dr. Dayton Campbell, General Secretary of the People’s National Party (PNP), Taujul Imports, and Jason Ricketts for their support.

He further acknowledged the tireless efforts of the various charitable organisations and individuals working to provide food and assistance to families across the affected areas. The donation underscores 2 Brothers Rice Milling Complex’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its broader mission to foster goodwill and cooperation throughout the Caribbean.

Beyond agriculture, the company maintains close ties with Slingerz Entertainment and Slingerz Records, a family-owned enterprise and a pioneering force in Guyana’s entertainment industry. For more than two decades, Slingerz Entertainment and Slingerz Records have played an instrumental role in promoting Jamaican artistes and supporting the music industry, strengthening cultural and creative links between Guyana and Jamaica.
