Kaieteur Sports – The Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) utilized its final year-end tournament as a measuring-stick for scouting player talent for 2026, with lots planned for the new year.
The Beach tournament, which was hosted at the Marriott Beachfront, won by the pair of Vance Harding and Juan Velazquez, Team Spartans defeated the Upsetters 2-0.
While the tournament was captivating based on the quality of players involved, the DVA is clearly geared towards ensuring the brand continues to be well-managed heading into 2026.
Guyana’s Volleyball team had a decent run in the 2025 IGGs, thus adding to the importance of selecting the best male and female players which will continue to represent the Country at all levels.
Given the solid 2025 the DVA and by extension the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) endured, it is likely that more groundbreaking moves will be made during 2026 as the trajectory remains on an upward path.
