Cop under close arrest for discharging loaded firearm
(Kaieteur News) – A sergeant of police landed himself in hot water, when he was placed under close arrest for discharging a loaded firearm at No 78 Village, Corriverton, Berbice.
In a statement on Sunday, police said the incident occurred on Friday and “on Saturday December 27, 2025 about 12:20 hrs, acting on information received, the sergeant was contacted, informed of the allegation and taken into custody. He was placed under close arrest as part of the ongoing investigation,” the police statement read.
