(Kaieteur News) – The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), the country’s main referral hospital, officially launched its website on Monday.
According to a statement shared on the hospital’s Facebook page, the launch represents “a significant milestone in the institution’s ongoing digital transformation journey.”
The website was developed in collaboration with Fiscal Frontier, a local, women-owned Guyanese business. GPHC noted that the company’s technical expertise and partnership were instrumental in delivering a platform tailored to the hospital’s operational needs and long-term vision.
The website, which can be accessed at https://gphc.gov.gy/, the website offers patients, staff, students, partners, and members of the public a, “seamless and user-friendly digital experience,” according to the hospital. The website serves as a central hub for health advisories, hospital updates, educational resources, career opportunities, and essential contact information, strengthening communication and public engagement.
Through the platform, patients can also access the online booking system at the Festival City Polyclinic to schedule appointments, connect to the MyHealth platform, and learn more about the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system scheduled for introduction. GPHC emphasised that these features are intended to support a more connected, efficient, and patient-centred healthcare experience.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Executive Officer Robbie Rambarran offered remarks stating, “In the age of technology, patients, families, and communities increasingly seek timely and accurate information, and this platform helps us meet that need,” he said. He added that as healthcare continues to evolve, institutions must adopt digital tools to support emerging systems and services.
Rambarran further noted that the website complements several communication initiatives already implemented at GPHC, including structured information-sharing systems and identifiable support points within the hospital.
The hospital explained that the launch of the website aligns with its broader vision for digital healthcare transformation, which includes the phased introduction of e-health services across its branches to enhance access, efficiency, and overall patient experience.
Communications Manager Stacy Peters in providing an overview of the platform, noted that for years patients, students, and members of the public had difficulty accessing reliable information about the institution. “This website bridges that gap by providing a centralised, reliable source of information for the people we serve,” she said.
GPHC reaffirmed its commitment to continuous improvement, noting that the website will continue to evolve with additional features and content to be introduced over time.
