Tutorial Academy cancels classes over bee plague
(Kaieteur News) – Students and teachers of the Tutorial Academy Secondary School in New Amsterdam, Berbice, Region Six were forced to leave the institution earlier than usual on Friday following a bee infestation.
In an address via its Facebook page, the school’s administration updated parents and the general public of the situation.

One teacher told Kaieteur News that students and staff were all sent home. She disclosed that there were no reports of any attacks.
The school stated that the safety and wellbeing of its students and staff remain its top priority. It is not yet known whether the situation was addressed or if class sessions will resume in the new week.
“Further updates will be provided as the situation is assessed and addressed by the relevant authorities,” the school stated.
