Kaieteur Sports – The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) is conducting training sessions for female cricketers in preparations for upcoming female Inter Country Cricket competitions.
The sessions, which are being held at various venues in Berbice, are being led by BCB head coach Winston Smith with assistance from other coaches.
According to Smith, most of the top female players from Berbice, who have represented Guyana and the West Indies, are available and are participating in the sessions. He also stated that other females interested in playing cricket are also being accommodated at the training sessions.
Another training session is slated for today at the Area H Ground in Rose Hall Town. A practice match is slated for Saturday at a venue to be decided. Following which a squad will be selected to continue training to represent Berbice.
Female Inter County is slated to be played from the 24th of November. (Samuel Whyte)
