Pee Wee U11 Championship: Quarterfinal and Semifinal showdowns set for today

Kaieteur Sports – The quest for the title intensifies today as the Petra-coordinated Courts Optical Pee Wee U11 Football Championship charges into its knockout stages. At the Ministry of Education (MoE) ground, the final eight teams will battle through the quarterfinals and semifinals, all vying for a coveted spot in the championship final.

The action kicks off at 11:00 AM with two compelling quarterfinal fixtures. On one pitch, Tucville Primary will face Leonora Primary, promising a tactical clash of contrasting styles. Simultaneously, a classic rivalry will be renewed as St. John The Baptist (Bartica) takes on St. Gabriel’s (Georgetown). St. Gabriel’s found their form in the second round, but they face a formidable SJTB side, whose attack, led by the prolific Aaron Christian and Neymar Edwards, has been scoring goals at will.

The drama continues at 12:00 PM with the final two quarterfinal matches. St. Pius, the tournament’s ‘dark horse,’ squares off against Redeemer Primary, with both teams aiming to secure their place in the final four. They will be followed by a compelling match between West Ruimveldt Primary and Agatash Primary, as both sides look to prove their mettle and advance.

The winners of each quarterfinal will immediately advance to the semifinals to compete for a place in the championship match. The losing teams will enter a separate bracket to contest the tournament’s ranking positions.

The semifinal picture is set as follows, commencing at 13:00 hours; Semifinal 1: The winner of the Tucville vs. Leonora match will face the winner of West Ruimveldt vs. Agatash. Semifinal 2: The winner of St. John The Baptist vs. St. Gabriel’s will take on the winner of St. Pius vs. Redeemer.
