Investigate all, not some!
(Kaieteur News) – Is like investigation now turn fashion show. Every week yuh hearing who getting investigate and who not. Some people getting shine light bright bright like dem in music video, while others hiding behind curtain like shy bride. Dem Boys seh if we gon do investigation, leh we do it proper—investigate all, not some!
Is not only alleged gold smuggling that police and GRA should be running behind. Dem got some big ones in government selling out dem duty-free concessions before the ink dry pon the paper! Some of dem selling faster than dem could say “tax holiday.” Dem Boys seh, that alone need a special task force with magnifying glass and lie detector.
And while yuh at it, go and check out that story about de big one who allegedly buy one super-expensive property in New York. If is lie that was told against the man, then he deserves due process so that he can clear his name rather than be scandalized.
Then yuh got the Americans alleging things ‘bout the Mohammeds. But the Americans also claim how government officials were contaminated in the process and how one person received bribes.
The whole country waiting to see de outcome and how wide de nest gan cast. But Dem Boys seh, investigation can’t stop deh. Remember when Vice News come here and do dem lil documentary? Dem mek some serious allegations too. What happen to that? Or we only investigating things when it convenient and the camera pointing the other way?
Dem Boys seh the government must not cherry-pick which pot to stir. Because once yuh only stirring one pot, the rest gon bun at the bottom. Transparency don’t mean showing only what yuh want people to see. If yuh gon sweep, sweep the whole yard—not just under the mat where de VIPs does stand.
So, Dem Boys seh: investigate all, not some. Because once people start thinking investigation is just another political game then people will lost confidence in justice. Therefore, is best we investigate everything including after de canary done sing.
