Miner gets three months’ sentence for causing grievous bodily harm
Sentenced Darius Mason
(Kaieteur News) – A miner who police has identified as 39-year-old Darius Mason, was sentenced to three months in prison for inflicting grievous bodily harm.
According to a statement from the police, Mason who hails from the “Wax Creek, Upper Mazaruni River, was arrested on October 2 and charged on Monday, October 6, for inflicting “grievous bodily harm” on Junior Matthews.
He appeared on Monday via Zoom at the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court before His Worship Magistrate Teriq Mohammed, where the charge was read to him.
Mason pleaded guilty before the sentence was handed down to him.
