The mangled Raum in which two people were killed following an accident with a truck along the Linden-Soesdyke Highway
Kaieteur News – Two men were reportedly killed Saturday night after their car, a Toyota Raum, crashed into a truck along the Linden Soesdyke Highway.
While police are yet to release an official statement, East Bank Division Police Commander Wayne D’Harte confirmed the deaths. Information reaching Kaieteur News are that the men were identified at the scene only as Sherwin and Marlon, also known as ‘Alex.”
Sherwin was reportedly driving the car while Marlon was a passenger when the car crashed into the truck in the vicinity of “Ideal Road”.
Kaieteur News understands that the two men were workmates and had just left a heritage celebration when tragedy struck.
The men’s colleagues said they need help in locating Marlon’s relatives. All that is known about him is that he is from Lethem.
Investigations are ongoing.

It certainly looks like speeding and some drinks were involved.
How could someone driving, day or night, not see a truck, a vehicle
bigger in size ? Report did not say truck was parked, but believed to
be ALONG THE LINDEN SOESDYKE HIGHWAY? Was it moving along ?
