Kaieteur News – A New and United Guyana (ANUG) on Friday confirmed that Ms. Nandranie Singh is the party’s parliamentary representative under the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) banner.
In a statement, the party said the decision is based on the WIN-ANUG collaboration. Kaieteur News reported that back in June, both parties signed an agreement to contest the 2025 General and Regional Elections.
“This historic step reinforces the growing strength and momentum of the WIN campaign. With ANUG’s addition under the WIN banner, the movement gains valuable electoral experience and national reach, making ANUG the first political party to officially join the WIN platform,” ANUG expressed at the time.
On Friday, ANUG stated that Ms. Singh inviolably pledges to be non-discriminatory in serving the people with distinction, dedication, integrity-and an immutable commitment to the principles upon which ANUG was founded.
“This historic opportunity leverages ANUG’s ability to certify that the voices of our members and supporters are represented at the highest forum of decision making- an opportunity that eluded ANUG post-Election 2020,” it said in its statement.
The party said that its representative in Parliament is committed to be guided by the values of transparency, accountability and meritocracy and together, the parties will continue to strive for a Guyana that is inclusive and the Human Development Index matrix is exponentially accelerated, to benefit all citizens.
Further, ANUG thanked Azruddin Mohamed, and WIN for affording ANUG a platform to represent the people.
“WIN’s collaboration and confidence in ANUG have made this achievement possible, and ANUG looks forward to working seamlessly together in the service of the people of Guyana. We also take this moment to thank you, our ANUG members, for your steadfast support, encouragement, and belief in ANUG’s mission. Without your loyalty and hard work, we could not have reached this significant milestone,” the statement disclosed.
WIN secured the second highest votes at the elections gaining 16 seats in the National Assembly. Among those who will be occupying the seats are Mohamed, Tabitha Sarabo-Haley, Dawn Hastings Williams, General Secretary, Odessa Primus, Natasha Singh-Lewis, Duarte Hetsberger, Leslyn Gale-Lowe, Vishnu Panday, Beverly Cornelius, Gobin Harbhajan, Deon LaCruz, Nandranie Singh, Dr. Gordon Barker, Janelle Sweatnam, Dr. Ryan Richards, and Dr. Andre Lewis.

While I applaud Azzrudin for “mixing” up the genders for his party, the questions still stands: What experiences do they bring to the table and how eloquently can they execute the agenda for the citizens of Guyana?. WIN must not become enamored in the “tit for tat” extreme like the APNU, AFC and the PPP; they must, rather become educated in the legal systems along with the geo-political agendas of the entire trading world to gain the best leverage for Guyanese.
Furthermore, the country needs parliamentarians who are knowledgeable, consistent and can navigate the corridors of the political world; it does NOT end in Guyana. We must be cognizant of the role of the USA in Guyana’s system, since the main objective is renewable resources like oil, gas, lithium and other precious metals. Therefore, who in this party can withstand the bullish agenda, without “caving in” to the elites.
People throw their hats and support and candidate only to become side-lined when the heat is turned up. The WIN party of acolytes must govern with insight and discernment. Jagdeo is a master of the political arena, and he will ensure his policies keep the WIN candidates handcuffed and without resources. Good luck in your endeavors. You will need it to forge a different chapter with Jagdeo in his present role!
