Kaieteur News – A 25-year-old mother of one is fearful for her life after the man accused of stabbing her 24 times was on Wednesday released on $800,000 bail.

Navin Stoll was released on $800,000 bail
The victim, Claurine Prescod was stabbed on December 4, 2024 along the Linden-Soesdyke Highway by her now ex-husband. The vicious attack, which occurred in front of her three-year-old son, was caught on camera.
On Wednesday, her ex-husband, Navin Stoll was placed on bail when he appeared virtually before Magistrate Tameka Clarke at the Friendship Magistrates’ Court. He was charged with attempted murder and was on remand for eight months.
Kaieteur News understands that the prosecutor in the matter objected strongly to Stoll being granted bail. However, Magistrate Clarke granted bail on condition that Stoll does not contact Prescod or be seen 100 feet near her.
As the magistrate handed down her decision, Prescod wept in the court room. The magistrate asked her if she wanted to say anything, an offer she did not accept.
However, in a Facebook post after the decision, Prescod said, “We living in a country where you kill or trying to kill people and then you go on bail and come out and live a normal life, no justice but I want you to know that there is a God and he knows and sees everything life could never be fear.”
Speaking with Kaieteur News on Thursday, Prescod’s mother said that she too is fearful Stoll would breach the court’s order and attack her daughter again. Due to their insecurity, the woman has left her hinterland location to stay with her daughter.
Stoll is scheduled to return to court in November.

I am for women defending themselves, using any means to do so.
I believe in an ” eye for an eye”, that will not leave everyone blind.
However, these scourges that illtreat their wife, live-in partners, murders
them, need be eradicated. Women cannot depend on Government to
Protect them for habitual abusers. They need to act and act fast.
