Kaieteur News – One of de fuss signs of senility is memory loss. So yuh gat to be on the lookout fuh people who does start fuh fuhget wah dem supposed to do.

It remind dem boys of when an elderly couple went to see de doctor. De doctor examine dem and tell them, “Y’all memory startin’ to slip, better write down whah yuh want.”

De elderly couple agree to try this out. De head home. As soon as dem pass through de door, de old lady seh, “Bring meh a bowl ah ice cream.” She warn she husband, “Write it down.”

He seh, “Nah man, me can remember—bowl ah ice cream.”

She add, “Put lil whipped cream pon top.” She remind he again, “Write it down.”

He seh, “Nah, nah, me brain sharp like cutlass—ice cream wid whipped cream.”

Then she seh, “And don’t forget the cherry pon top.” She beg he, “Please write it down.”

He puff up he chest: “Me ain’t need paper, me know whah yuh want—ice cream, whipped cream, cherry pun top.”

He gone in de kitchen, clattin’ up pots and pan fuh more than half hour. When he finally come back, he hand she a plate ah bacon and eggs.

De old lady watch de plate steady, then look up at he wid one serious face and seh,
“Where de toast?”

Talk half. Leff half.
