Kaieteur Sports – Chances of qualifying for a playoff spot are dwindling for the Trinbago Knight Riders, who have gone winless so far in this edition of the Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League.
Today, they face a familiar opponent in the Guyana Amazon Warriors, but have already conceded to the home side in their opening match at the Providence National Stadium.
While their match against Warriors was a close shave, the battle against Barbados Royals that followed was a one-sided affair in favour of the defending champion.
TKR are in the cellar after two consecutive losses, GAW sit second with two points from a win and a loss while the undefeated BR are on top with four points from two wins.
However, TKR still have an opportunity to enter the playoffs if they manage to flip their fortune to be victorious today and against Barbados next Tuesday along with hoping Sunday’s result between GAW and BR favours them.
But, in the meanwhile, TKR have a psychological hurdle to clear of losing to the other two teams from the inception and clawing their way back into contention.
Their opponents today are under pressure but not as immense. Warriors will have to stave off a desperate TKR side in order to solidify their chance of advancing to the playoff.
Match time today is 16:00hrs.
