Kaieteur News – Dem boys seh deh got plenty man in this country who could talk outta both side of dem mouth at the same time and still believe dem sound intelligent. One man de other night hollering how de elections was rig. High-tech rigging, he seh, like was some NASA project. But in de same breath, he seh APNU suffer a “setback.”
Now leh we get this straight. If yuh believe elections rig, then yuh can’t call it no setback. Setback is when you lose fair and square, like when yuh cricket team get bowled out fuh 99 chasing 100. Rigging is when somebody thief de runs offa de scoreboard. Which one it is? Yuh can’t got rigging and setback in de same sentence.
But wait, story get better. De man seh after de setback, de leader of APNU must “step aside.” Step aside fuh what? If yuh really believe was rigging, then de leader ain’t get beat, he get rob. You don’t tell a man who get pickpocket to step aside; you does help he chase down de thief. Unless, of course, yuh just looking fuh change and yuh using setback and step aside as yuh two magic words.
Dem boys seh only in Guyana yuh could get dis kinda double-dutch politics. One minute setback, next minute step aside. One-minute high-tech rigging, next minute high-time resignation. Is like some people want to eat de cake, keep de cake, and then blame somebody else fuh de crumbs.
Talk half. Leff half.
