School reopening set for Monday
Kaieteur News – The Ministry of Education on Thursday informed parents, students and teachers that schools will be reopening on Monday, September 8, 2025 for the 2025/2026 academic year.
“We wish all our parents, children and teachers a successful Christmas term and especially welcome the children who will be attending nursery, primary and secondary for the first time,” the ministry said on its Facebook page.
It was previously reported that schools were initially expected to be reopened on September 1, but with general and regional elections, the reopening was delayed by a week. Part of the reason is that some schools were being used as polling stations in a number of communities.
