Kaieteur Sports – Sri Lanka pulled off a thrilling heist by a wicket to upset the West Indies yesterday to help level the 7-match 50 Over series played at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua.
Windies captain, Joshua Dorne hit a gritty 82 with five fours with support from Brendan Boodoo (28) and Johnathan Van Lange (26) which helped the Windies post 201 all out batting first.
Vigneshwaran Akash grabbed 3-30 for Sri Lanka, who in reply pulled off a nail-biter to finish on 204-9.
Captain Vinmath Disara scored a vital 45 while Camika Heenatiglia (30) helped to relax the pressure as the main scorers in the chase which almost backfired.
The West Indies duo of Boodoo, who returned to bag two wickets and Zachary Carter grabbed 3-43 in a losing effort.
