Kaieteur News – Five women of Byderabo Road, Bartica, on Friday, were charged with assault causing actual bodily harm when they appeared at the Bartica Magistrates’ Court.
The accused, 47-year-old Evelyn Dalgetty; 54-year-old Pauline Smith; 26-year-old Alicia Ault; 22-year-old Atalya Dalgetty; and 22-year-old Serena Williams, reportedly assaulted Grace James.
The women were all arrested on Wednesday by a Detective Corporal from Bartica Police Station and charged by the said rank.
The joint charge was laid under Section 30(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 08:01.
The defendants appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed, where the charge was read to them. They all pleaded not guilty and were released on self-bail. The matter was adjourned to October 3 for continuation.
