Trinbago Knight Riders will be looking to capitalize on home turf advantage against the Amazon Warriors (Getty Images)
Kaieteur Sports – Guyana Amazon Warriors will be facing their old rivals Trinbago Knight Riders tonight as action in this year’s CPL Tournament continues across Trinidad and Tobago.
TKR should fancy themselves with their dangerous batting order, led by centurion to date, Colin Munro, England opener Alex Hales, while local boys Keacy Carty, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell and Nick Pooran should make for a huge total or an easy chase.
The likes of Mohammed Amir will lead up the pace department along with Ali Khan and Russell. Spin twins Akeal Hosein and Sunil Narine should hold their ends down against a strong Warriors batting line.
The Warriors have been posting big scores but their loss in the last game after scoring 200 plus should put TKR at a psychological advantage.
Batting should revolve around the usual suspects in Ben McDermott, Shai Hope, Romario Shepherd and Iftikhar Ahmed who had a brilliant innings last match in a losing effort.
The likes of Mooen Ali, Kevlon Anderson and Shimron Hetmyer will want to turn their batting fortunes around this match.
With Dwaine Pretorius showing his class with bat and ball, Shepherd and Jediah Blades will add good support to the pace department.
Gudakesh Motie and Imran Tahir have been the X-Factors for the Warriors and against a star-studded TKR team, much will be required from the ex-champs.
Guyana currently sits in 4th place while TKR occupy the third spot with action bowling off from 19:00h at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy. (Clifton Ross)
