Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – OGGN is making it simple for the government to call for renegotiation of the 2016 Stabroek Block Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) by writing the template that can be used by the government to initiate the renegotiation process according to the terms of the contract. Here is the letter:
Alistair Routledge,
President ExxonMobil Guyana
Dear Sir,
In accordance with Article 32.1 of the 2016 PSA, we are requesting an engagement with your company regarding further amendments to the 2016 PSA. On April 26, 2019, Addendum No. 1 to the 2016 PSA was signed containing the following wording: “the said royalty payment shall not be a recoverable cost, in any manner or formulation under the Petroleum Agreement.” Given your company’s compliance in 2019 to amending the 2016 PSA, I request that you respond within 7 days of the date of this letter so we can schedule the commencement of further amendments to the 2016 PSA.
Yours Sincerely,
Minister of Natural Resources
