‘Guyanese Critic’, Bryan Max granted bail on charges

Kaieteur News – Fifty-nine-year-old political activist Bryan ‘Max’ Mackintosh and 45-year-old social media commentator, Mikhael Rodrigues, known as the ‘Guyanese Critic’ were on Monday released on bail.
Mackintosh and Rodrigues both appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly.
Rodrigues pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on August 23, 2025, at Lot 126 Laluni Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Mackintosh.
He was represented by attorney Bernard Da Silva who reassured the court that his client is not a flight risk.
The prosecution had no objection to bail, which resulted in Magistrate Daly releasing Rodrigues on $100,000 bail, adjourning the matter to September 15, 2025.
Meanwhile, Mackintosh was charged with abusive language and two counts of provoking breach of the peace.

The 59-year-old pleaded not guilty to the three charges which alleged he, on August 23, 2025, at Lot 126 Laluni Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, used abusive language toward OC Rogers and provoked Rogers and Rodrigues with intent to insult or annoy them.
Mackintosh was represented by attorney Dawn Cush.
The prosecution had no objection to bail. Magistrate Daly released Mackintosh on $15,000 bail for each of three charges adding up to $45,000.
His matters were also adjourned for September 15, 2025.
The charges stemmed from an incident which occurred on the date mentioned above, where Mackintosh claimed he had to collect some money from Rodrigues on behalf of businessman Azruddin Mohammed.
Rodrigues invited Mackintosh into his studio, after which a confrontation ensued, leading to a physical altercation where Rodrigues allegedly wounded Mackintosh.
The incident occurred during a live stream on Mackintosh’s Facebook page. Rodrigues was placed on $50,000 station bail and Mackintosh was placed on $25,000 station bail.
