Dear Editor,
I owe it to the listening public to correct a statement made by Mr. Fredrick McWilfred who recently appeared on the Political Insight hosted by Ms. Kiana Wilburg on the Sheriff News Network.
During that interview, he erroneously stated that “Eddy Collins” was one of the PNCR Leaders who were “sidelined” by Mr. Aubrey Norton, upon his ascension to the “Leader” of the PNCR. This is simply not true. The truth is that I was elected a Member of the Central Executive Committee at the very Biennial Congress that Mr. Norton became Leader of the Party.
I served throughout its term and took a deliberate decision, which was discussed with Mr. Norton, not to run for any positions of Leadership at the following Biennial Congress. Notwithstanding that decision, I wish to categorically, state that I remained and still am an active Member of the Peoples National Congress Reform. Furthermore, I am currently involved in every major event of my Party with ready access to Mr. Norton at any time. Editor, I hope this will set the record straight and consequently, Mr. McWilfred’s assertion will not be construed as a fact.
With highest regards,
Brigadier(retired) Edward O. Collins
