Kitty man arrested for unlicensed ammunition

Kaieteur News – A 22-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday evening for possession of unlicensed ammunition.
Arrested is Samuel Cole of Kitty, Georgetown.
According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), at approximately 21:45hrs, officers, on Wednesday were on mobile patrol duty, when they intercepted Cole on Aubrey Barker Road, between Penny Lane and Festival City entrance. At the time of the incident Cole was driving a White Toyota Axio motor car bearing registration number PAC 4181.
“A search was carried out on his person, but nothing unlawful was found. A further search was conducted on the vehicle and six live 9mm rounds of ammunition, along with two .32 spent shells, were found under the front passenger seat in a multi-coloured plastic bag,” police said.
They added that the ranks took possession of the ammunition and asked Cole if he had a License to carry a Firearm, to which he responded saying ‘no’.
He was told of the offence committed, cautioned, arrested and taken to the East La Penitence Police Station where he was placed in custody. The vehicle was also lodged, and his home was searched but nothing of evidential value was found.
