Kaieteur News- Police in a statement on Thursday said that patrol ranks have nabbed a Venezuelan National with 11 grams of cocaine at Helena, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
The arrest was reportedly made around 17:00hrs on Wednesday and the suspect was identified as an 18-year-old construction worker.
He was reportedly standing on a bridge with a black one strap bag hanging around his neck when the patrol ranks showed up.
“A search on his person and bag was conducted by the ranks, who found one transparent zip-lock bag containing seven parcels wrapped in black plastic and one white plastic wrapped together”, police said while adding that when the ranks opened the parcels they found pieces of hard, rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine.
The suspect was cautioned arrested and taken into police custody.
Investigations continue.
