Kaieteur News- A 26-year-old mother of one was released on $45,000 bail on Wednesday for three charges.
Johanna Lawson, of Lot 306 Coma Street, Lamaha Gardens, Georgetown, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Senior Magistrate Fabyo Azore who read the charges.
Lawson pleaded not guilty to the charges which alleged that on June 25, 2025, at the Brickdam Police Station, she assaulted and used threatening language towards Britni Singh.
It is also alleged that on the same day at the said address, she behaved disorderly in a public place.
Lawson was represented by attorney Keoma Griffith who requested bail on her behalf.
The court heard that on the day in question, the victim visited the station to lodge a report against the defendant regarding another matter, when she was confronted by the accused.
Magistrate Azore placed the two parties on a peace bond and Lawson was granted $15,000 bail for each of the three charges.
The matter was adjourned to July 16, 2025.
