Name roundabouts after notable citizens
Dear Mr. Editor,
Kaieteur News – The government is doing a very good, national effort by placing anteater, eagles and birds in the centre of the roundabouts in the construction of highways they are making.
That’s a good thing, I commend them for that — but why not name the roundabouts after people like, Mr. Derryck Phang – Long tennis, Rohan Khanai – Cricket, George Depana – Athletics and CCWU and Mr Eon McDonald – Long Tennis and Guysuco Fame. Mr Lance Gibbs – Cricket, Roy Fredricks, Clive Loyd – Cricket. Neville Hunt -Cycling. Eric Vieria – Motor Racing, James Renjilkes – Athletics, Shivnarine Chanderpaul – Cricket, what about Junane Griffith – Athletics? Colleen Braithwaite – Squash, Nicolette Fernandes – Squash. Alika Morgan – Athletics, Gwendolyn O’ Neil – Boxing and the list goes on from 1955 to 2024. Please Honourable Bishop Juan A. Edghill and Minister Charles Ramson, look into this.

This is a good suggestion.
However, I take exception to naming any roadways, ERIC VEIRA(VEIRIA) ?
MOTOR RACING. No, I don’t hate Eric. Just protect his legacy as a Racer.
We already have or had many RACERS better than ERIC. They have
died in road accidents. So, please leave ERIC off this list to protect others
who use currently use the roads.
