Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – I am writing to highlight a concerning and ongoing issue at the state media entities NCN/DPI. For several months now, staff have been forced to work under unacceptable sanitary conditions due to persistent problems with dirty and unavailable water. There is no access to clean water for washing hands or utensils after lunch, and the toilets are frequently overflowing.
It is disheartening that despite numerous complaints, this matter remains unresolved. Employees continue to suffer in what is supposed to be a prestigious national institution.
It appears that those in charge, including Mr. Neaz Subhan and Mr. Edward Layne, have shown little interest in addressing these basic health and safety issues. Instead, there are growing concerns among staff about the misuse of government resources.
We call on the relevant authorities to urgently investigate and resolve this matter. Clean water and proper sanitation are fundamental workplace necessities—not luxuries.
Sincerely,
Concerned Staff Member
