Kaieteur News has been able to confirm that a police constable was immediately transferred after he was seen shaking hands with presidential hopeful, Azruddin Mohamed, at Santa Rosa, Moruca, Region One.
Mohamed visited Santa Rosa on Monday, where the rank was caught on camera shaking the presidential candidate’s hand in a welcoming manner.
Not long after, he was notified of his transfer from the Region One district.
He was instructed to pack and leave on Tuesday morning; however, he left the area on Wednesday.
Sources did not say where he was transferred to, but revealed that he will be heading to a location where there is no reliable cell phone reception.
Kaieteur News also learned that the constable had questioned the reason for transfer, but his superiors refused to give him one.
According to sources, he was only told he must comply.
The constable is reportedly unaware of any particular reason for his sudden transfer.

Shaking the hand of a Presidential candidate for the Sept.1 election must
have been an honor for this constable.
Not the same, however, of SHAKING DOWN THIS CANDIDATE FOR A SMALL
PIECE, that a few in the GPF still might be doing.
But, transferring this constable because he “shook hand” with an enemy ?
is dictatorial in every sense. This must have come directly from the top-
President Ali, VP Jaggy ? Nowhere in the manuals of the GPF, it is believed
a constable MUST NEVER shake hands with a perceived enemy ? Then,
how is the Police at his level, able to foster good relations with the community
he works in and extend a welcoming hand to visitors ?
Some in High Places must be desperate ?
