Kaieteur Sports- Comfort Sleep, one of Guyana’s top manufacturers and retailers of mattresses and home furnishings, has officially partnered with the Guyana Golf Association (GGA) to boost support for the country’s rapidly growing junior golf programme.
The company, based in Eccles Industrial Park, has been an active supporter of junior sports for several years, quietly contributing to the GGA’s efforts since 2021. Now, after witnessing the impact of the youth golf initiative, Comfort Sleep has taken a more prominent role in backing the programme that has introduced golf to thousands of children across Guyana.
“We have always been strong supporters of junior sports and especially golf development in Guyana,” said Dennis Charran, Founder and CEO of Comfort Sleep.
“From the beginning, we believed in Mr. Hussain’s vision, and we’ve seen firsthand how quickly the sport has grown through the dedication of the GGA and the Nexgen Golf Academy. We’re proud to contribute to an initiative that’s making such a difference in the lives of young people.”
Under the guidance of GGA President Aleem Hussain and the Nexgen Golf Academy, the junior programme has expanded into schools across multiple regions, teaching the fundamentals of the sport along with key values such as honesty, discipline, and social development.
Philip Haynes, Secretary of the Guyana Golf Association, praised Comfort Sleep’s continued involvement: “Without your tremendous support from the beginning, we would not have been able to achieve this level of success. Thousands of young children have now had the opportunity to experience golf. Your contributions will have a lasting impact on the future of the sport in Guyana.”

GGA president Aleem Hussain lauded what he deemed was a major assist as the Association continues to grow.
Comfort Sleep’s official partnership marks a significant step forward for the development of golf in Guyana, as the GGA continues its mission to make the sport more accessible to children of all backgrounds.
