It is alleged that the defendants on April 28, 2025 at various location across Georgetown, committed terrorist acts and broke into several supermarkets and stole quantities of items. The attorneys all requested bail on behalf of their clients reassuring the court of their clients’ innocence, that they are not flight-risk. They also challenged the act under which their clients have been charged since the particulars for the defendants reflect break and enter and larceny but they are charged with terrorism.
The prosecution objected to bail due to the likelihood of the defendants committing the acts again, and due to the serious nature of the offence. The also mentioned that some accuse were seen adding wood to fire and burning the road. Magistrate McGusty stated that public peace has been restored and as a result she granted bail for the break and enter and larceny charge starting from $200,000 for each of the accused that committed that offence and for the terrorism charge $250,000. The defendants who were charged with both offenses have a total of $450,000 bail. The matters were all adjourned until June 4, 2025.
