Kaieteur News- A 26-year-old boat captain was arrested on Tuesday morning for assault causing actual bodily harm.

Orin Rankin, of Lot 4 Enterprise, Leguan, allegedly assaulted his common-law wife on Monday evening, a police report stated.

A Facebook post made on Tuesday by the victim’s mother, stated that Rankin has been living with her daughter and her three children. She said on Monday evening, he allegedly hit her. The mother said she is not currently in Guyana, and is requesting help for her child.

“I’m pleading with anyone who would be kind enough to point me in the right direction to get help for my daughter, a phone number, or anything I would really appreciate it. Please, heaven forbid! This could be your child, good or bad, we don’t give up on our children and I’m asking please help me save my daughter before it’s too late. She has kids. God knows if I were there, no one would even dare to put their hands on my child,” the Facebook post stated.
