Man’s body found near GPO
Kaieteur News- A male vagrant was found lying motionless on the eastern pavement on Kirkpatrick Street, Georgetown in the vicinity of the Guyana Post Office Corporation (G.P.O) on Friday evening.
According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF) the deceased was seen lying among other vagrants on the said street, clad in a grey track pants and topless. Police said that according to persons in the area, at approximately 06:00 hours the now deceased man was seen vomiting and hyperventilating.
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) was subsequently summoned and the victim was pronounced dead by Dr. Rampersaud of the Georgetown Public Hospital Cooperation (GPHC).
Several persons in the area were questioned and the body was examined but no marks of violence were seen and no foul play suspected. CCTV cameras were seen in the vicinity which will be viewed.
The body was taken to the Memorial Garden Funeral home awaiting identification and postmortem examination. Investigation is ongoing.
