Kaieteur News- Lemme tell yuh someting, boy. Is only in dis part o’ de world yuh could see man living sweet like syrup—two house, one head. One for self, one fuh wuk. Yes! Minister-man own he house in de suburbs, and still want state house in town, cause “de traffic bad”.
But yuh hear wha Aunty Kamla tell dem boys down in Trinidad? She seh: “Listen nah, if yuh own a house, doh come askin fuh no next one from de state. This ain’t no real estate agency!”
When dem boys shear dat, dem boys clap so till dem hand swell. Is sense she talking! Big woman talk!
You ever hear such sweetness? De country size like a roti skin, and still Minister want government accommodation like he posting in Antarctica. Like is hardship posting to be a Minister in Guyana now. Next thing yuh know, dem gon want hardship allowance fuh leff dem house to go Parliament.
Let we get serious, nah. If yuh got yuh house in de suburbs and yuh office in Georgetown yuh don’t need no other house fuh government pay fuh. Yuh need a good waker-upper and lil traffic patience—not a fully furnished bungalow with tax dollars.
All dem lil pickney going to school in minibus, teachers walking through rain, pensioners stretching dem lil NIS… and is Minister want second house, complete with security, AC, and private gardener? Fuh wuk yuh choose? Na man!
We should pass a simple rule: if yuh live within two hours of wuk—by donkey, bicycle, or wukman car—no state house for you. Yuh can’t want two spoon in one plate while de people eating with dem hand. So leh we Guyanese follow Aunty Kamla example. House is house. And if yuh got one already, siddung in it and be grateful. Time fuh some persons to stop living large off de state and start living like de people dem come to serve.
Because as me old granny use to say: “Two house can’t fix a lazy conscience.”
Talk half. Leff half

(Kaieteur News) – There is something wonderfully modern about a health system in which the government pays a private hospital to provide a service to poor people, and the private hospital then tells those poor people to come back tomorrow for the results.
