The inefficiencies of NIS

Dear Editor,

I’ve written before on the inefficiencies of NIS, and even spoken with Dr. Luncheon, during his years as Chairman of the Board.

For the recent few years, I’ve been completing my Life Certificate on line.

On every occasion, I’ve had to make call upon call upon call….to the WhatsApp HOT line which apparently goes COLD. NO one bothers to respond to even say that someone would be with the caller or to the messages, soon or would return the call.

The NON response or answering to phone calls, regardless to mobile or land line numbers, to GOVERNMENT offices, is NOW the exception rather than the rule. It’s the new culture we’re forced to endure.

To say the least, it’s absolutely frustrating to have numbers advertised to serve the public and NO ONE ANSWERS.

I have a suggestion:

Can the Head of NIS, members of the Board and of other government agencies, try calling these numbers and satisfy themselves whether they get their calls answered or not?

I suppose I have no option than to continue to call/message and hope that someone wakes up to answer.
